Copyright covers every kind of Photoshop project you make. A logo, a poster, a packaging comp, a photo composite, a key visual — all of it is protected automatically the moment it's created, no registration required. Trademark protection, from the USPTO, is different and much narrower — it only applies to marks used to identify a business, like a logo or brand name, and it says nothing about the design work itself: the layered composite, the retouching, the photo manipulation that went into making it.
